After the heat of an Australian summer thoughts are now starting to turn to rugby once again around Bangalow.

Following a strong season in 2016 ended in yet another fifth place in the first grade competition, the hunger is sharpening for a place in the final four in 2017.

The Rebels start 2017 with head coach Warren Fisher firmly in place after his first year with the Rebels in 2016. As a player Warren represented the ACT in 1989. He is the brother of current Gloucester coach and former Munster and Brumbies mentor Laurie Fisher.

We are actively looking for new players across both first and reserve grade squads. Whether you are an aspiring Wallaby or a weekend warrior you will be welcome at the Rebels. The aim is to strengthen our already seriously competitive first grade team and to field a full strength reserve grade side throughout the season.

And if your best playing days are behind you, age is no barrier for the Bangalow Old Boys. The BoBs have big things planned for 2017, including their first ever international foray!

If your best playing days are still in front of you, come and join the Bangalow Juniors, with teams starting as young as under 7s. Bangalow Rugby is a family friendly club with rugby played in the right spirit. Juniors play on Friday night with modified rules for extra safety, under 7s play touch. Junior training is usually on a Tuesday afternoon and there is easy after school bus access from Byron Shire schools.

We’re always looking for new players, volunteers, sponsors and supporters. There’s a place for everyone with Bangalow Rugby, so get involved in 2017!
