Name: Brian Davis

Position: Not fussed, maybe on top?

Weight: I don’t like to talk about that.

Height: I don’t consider height to be important.

Nickname: Davo

Bangalow Debut: Buggered if I know, first season – founder player.

Bangalow Caps: I don’t know – I never count. It must be close to 60.

The best advice I’ve ever received: Don’t kiss women with an Adams Apple

My favourite rugby player is: Mark Ella

If I could have one super-human power I would choose: This is a tuff one, as I have most already. Maybe the power of being able to catch Dan Hill’s passes. That would be phenomenal.

The meal I am best at cooking is: Please someone explain what cooking is?

I would most like to be stranded on a desert Island with: A woman with an Adams Apple, that way I would definitely find a way to get off. Except for Kegsy, he looks pretty in a dress.

My pre-game routine/rituals include: Banana porridge for breakfast and lots of water and picking up bloody strapping tape.

The best moment of my life was: Actually catching one Dan Hill’s passes.

An unknown talent that I have is: Not a smart question – if it is unknown, it is unknown?? You tell me??

If I didn’t play for Bangalow I would probably: Be at home getting hen pecked by the ball and chain.

Name: Ben Cummings

Position: Coach/ former player

Weight: 98kg

Height: 6’2

Nickname: Cummo

Bangalow Debut: 2003

Bangalow Caps: 62

Sporting hero: Um, that’s easy, Al Baxter. He is the epitomy of what our game is all about. Um, he is strong, handsome, and can play awesome footy. Um, I’m a big fan, and the icing on the cake is that he plays for the Waratahs, my favourite team. “go the blues”

The best advice I’ve ever received: “Stick with your team through good and bad” I was told that by Big Al Baxter, my sporting hero. You see, I love the Waratahs, but um, they lose a few games here and there because the ref generally has a bit of a shocker if you know what I mean. Especially when they play the reds mate, who are a real bunch of scumbags if you know what I mean but um, I like some of their players like Wendal. Anyway, um, I think we’re gonna smack the reds arses in the last round if you know what I mean, and I will be there in all my blue glory to cheer on my best hero Big Al, and my second best hero, Lote tuquiri, who is a blue through and through and has blue blood running through his veins just like me. Um, “GO THE BLUES” – know what I mean mate.

I love Rugby because: I love the Waratahs. Um, they encapsulate what we are all here for. I am a coach and I love to draw on catch words like “passion”, “culture”, “work ethic”, “pride” and “team”. That is um, what the game is about if you know what I mean mate. I love it because that’s Rugby, and that’s the Waratah’s, um, and most of all that’s Big Al and Lote. I just love it when they kick Queensland’s arse because I feel like I am emersed in pride and passion with the blue blood running through my veins.

My worst habit is: Um! – you know what I mean, mate.

I would describe my physical appearance as: Um, Athletic, in a bashed up, substance abused sort of way. No really, I have still got the body I had when I played my best football if you know what I mean. I could pull on a Waratahs jersey tomorrow and um, probably hold my own if you know what I mean. I just sort of look a bit bashed up and abused mate.

My pre-game routine/rituals include: Smoking a cigarette, then smoking another cigarette.

When I was a kid I wanted to be a: Front rower, just like my favourite sporting hero “Big Al Baxter” he is the best, if I was a chick, I’d marry him. Ooh! Did I tell you he also plays for my favourite sporting team, the Waratahs. I like Lote too, but I don’t really want to be a winger, because they’re a bit sus if you know what I mean.

The most famous person I’ve ever met: Big Al Baxter, he was awesome, and made me understand what rugby was all about. He also plays for my favourite team the Waratahs.

If I didn’t play for Bangalow I would probably: Be a gear steward for my favourite team the Waratahs, um, but it would also good to be Big Als personal masseur, because he is great if you know what I mean.

Player Profile

Name: Braddon Walker Esquire.

Position: No 10

Weight: 90kg – all muscle

Height: 182cm – that’s 6 ft 1’ imperial

Nickname: Walker

Bangalow Debut: 2003

Bangalow Caps: 26

Sporting heros: My rugby students. They keep me young and make me laugh. They are a little brash sometimes, but it’s nice to give something back yeah? I love being a mentor.

The best advice I’ve ever received: Lead from the front. People will follow. A sporting god/guru once came to me in a vision because he saw me play and realised that I play the game several phases in front of the rest of the team. Its like Mary had a little lamb right, and his fleece was white as snow, and every where that Mary went, the sheep was sure to go right, because I am like, Mary, and the rest of the team are like little white sheep (with red and blue stripes) and they will go where ever I go, but like, three phases later.

I love Rugby because: I love myself, and by that I mean that if you can understand where I am coming from, ie that I am rugby, then I love rugby because I am rugby. Think about it, if you can’t love what you are man, then your basically incapable of loving anything right, and if you can’t love anything then the world is really fucked up. I’m very pro-active in spreading the word of peace and love to my fellow man, and I just can’t do that unless I love myself enough to love others. Rugby helps me to love myself.

My worst habit is: Pulling other players chicks. Not that I set out to do it, but like, chicks just dig me. I think that my brothers could learn from me because they just don’t understand that women are from venus right, and men are from mars, we are different. Personally I believe that I fit into neither category which is why people from both sexes are drawn to me. I have charisma. I like to think I am from Uranus. I can hear you laughing now about the Uranus comment, but that’s exactly what I am talking about, because to me Uranus is Uranus, Not your annus. Its like when you assume, you make an ass out of u and me. But guys have to be a little more sensitive if they don’t want their chicks to be attracted to the Bradster, because I am not about to change my whole sense of being just to stroke the egos of my brothers yeah!

I would describe my physical appearance as: Athletic yet spiritual.

My pre-game routine/rituals include: Planning the whole game out before we take the field. When I run on, I already know what is going to happen in the game. Every point, every tackle has already been played out in my mind right, the game is actually already over when I run out, which is why I have been so successful as a player for so long. People often say to me during a game “ Brad, can you see the gap” but its like, yeah, I saw it three phases ago. People don’t understand that, but its like I really played that move three phases ago and in three phases time you will be where I am at now. I don’t know if you get it, but it doesn’t really matter, as long as your fleece is white as snow (with red and blue stripes) and you go where Mary goes yeah!

When I was a kid I wanted to be a: football genius. Sometimes people achieve there dreams yeah, if you know what I am talking bout.

The most famous person I’ve ever met: Apart from myself…….ummmmm!

If I didn’t play for Bangalow I would probably: Be drinking piss with my peers i.e. Ella, Wilkinson, Larkham, Spencer and that young bloke – Carter. We love to share a drink and talk about how the game has evolved over the last 30 years.
