There will be a Smart Rugby course held at Bangalow on 9 June in the evening. This short course (only a couple of hours) is the minimum requirement for anyone wishing to help out with coaching or officiating junior rugby. We’d love to see some Bangalow rugby players and parents there to help build our club for the future. Let Dave Phillips (0412 080 614) know if you can come.

WALLABIES v SOUTH AFRICA TEST MATCH

This is your last chance to order tickets at reduced prices for the Wallabies v South Africa test match in Brisbane on 24 July. Tickets in the silver seating area are $44 for both adults and children (16 and under), i.e. adults at kids prices. Please let Dave Phillips (0412 080 614) know by 9 June if you want to come. The more the merrier (and the cheaper the bus per person)!

Wanted Rugby Players

Bangalow Rugby is looking for Senior players to join our club in the Far North Coast Village competition. We practice on Wednesdays at 6 pm and play on Saturdays usually around 2 pm.

We are particularly interested in some young blood to complement our experienced (aka aging ranks). If you are interested or know someone who might like to play with Bangalow please contact us or call our head coach Simon Balcon on 0416287786.

Bangalow Rugby Season Launch

Bangalow junior rugby community

A reminder that this Saturday is the season launch for Bangalow Rugby, with the seniors playing the new team from Murwillumbah at Bangalow at 2.00pm. We want to see as many juniors there as possible, in their jerseys, to run the senior team on to the field and play some touch footy at half time. There will be a sausage sizzle and we might even have the Bangalow Rugby billycart out for some trial runs.

The game will be followed by a social function at the pub. Coaches and parents of Bangalow junior rugby players are welcome.

Season Launch

Where: Bangalow Hotel

When: 5.30 – 7.30pm

Cost: $20 (I think) – includes food and one complimentary drink.

Theme: Big Kahuna (ie. @#$! Shirt!)

The Bangalow Billy Cart Derby is on this Sunday. The Bangalow Rugby billycart will be running (subject to passing its roadworthy inspection). Come along and cheer it on. Heats commence at 9.00am

Bangalow loses home opener to Iluka

Another call out for those interested in going to the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
The Bangalow Rugby “Punters Club” is now up and running for those interested in attending Rugby’s Holy Grail of events. There’s even talk of hitting the Hong Kong 7’s as a warm up tour – so now’s the time to get on board, start studying the form guide and make it happen. Cost is $10/wk of which $5 will be put towards betting on a weekly “top tip” as selected by alternating members of the Punters Club.
