Match Report – 23 April 10
Under 8s – DRAW
The Under 8’s had their first hit out in the red, white and blue on Friday night against an inform Evans Head outfit. Evans showed skill beyond their age but the mighty 8’s were up to the task.
Led by Will Nash and Ben Hunter in the backs, the forwards of Angus , Callum and Zahi ran some tight lines.
Evans scored two tries before the Mighty 8’s got into gear but once they had the wiff of success they showed that they are a side that will be hard to beat.
Our thanks to the Referee Simon Balcon for keeping order when around him could have been chaos.
Next week the 8’s take on the Wollongbar Blacks at home at 6.30 pm.
It promises to be a great game and we expect a sell out crowd.

Under 10s – lost 25 -10
Under 12’s won 55-5 against Evans Head
The under 14s had a solid win against Brunswick 41 – 7
The under 14s started the season with a strong performance against Brunswick Heads at Brunswick. The boys scored 7 tries to 1 to win by 41 points to 7. Our 7 tries were scored by 7 different players, showing our depth across the field. The first half in particular was scrappy with a lack of structure and discipline in our play, but Brunswick defended well. Lots to work on at training before we take on the better quality opposition teams.
Tries to Christian Monks, Davis Jensen, Jake Brumley, Lewis Erskine, Rory Wilson, Matt Phillips and Mitch Shepherd. Conversions to Doug Jarvis (2) and Rory Wilson (1).
